For those who are already teaching or training there is a Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. Our TAQA courses are for those working in Training, Assessing or Quality Assurance.
Teaching and Training
Introduction to Trainer Skills City & guilds Level 2 Award
Are you involved in induction or training sessions to colleagues? Are you new to training and want to develop confidence and skills as a Trainer or do you wish to refine existing skills?
This intensive, two-day course, provides you with a useful introduction to how different types of training can be delivered in an organised way. Over two days, you will take part in an interactive course with presentations, activities and discussion. The course includes aspects such as planning sessions, effective delivery and reflective evaluation. The skills gained from this course will enable you to plan, deliver and evaluate effective training in the workplace, no matter what content of subject that you are delivering.
Education and Training City & Guilds Level 3 Award
This course provides an introduction to teaching that will give an insight into the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training, how to plan and deliver inclusive teaching sessions and how to assess and give constructive feedback. The qualification covers the knowledge and skills required by teachers/trainers in the further education and training skills sector.
This introductory, knowledge-based teaching qualification has no minimum teaching practice requirement. Therefore, it may be undertaken by individuals who are not yet in a teaching role.
Education and Training City & Guilds Level 4 certificate
This qualification develops practical teaching skills, and through the optional units prepares teachers and trainers to work in a wide range of contexts. Content includes;
- Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
- Planning to meet the needs of learners
- Delivering teaching or training
- Assessing Learners
- Using resources in education and training
The optional units offer a wide range of activities from coaching and mentoring to engaging employers.
Training, Assessment and Quality Assurance (TAQA)
These qualifications are for people working in, or looking to enter roles in assessing and quality assurance.
Assessor Qualifications (Level 3)
Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment City & Guilds Level 3 Award
A knowledge only award for those who are starting their journey as an assessor, you will use an e-learning package and complete assessment activity electronically. There will also be an opportunity to attend workshops and meet one to one with your assessor in order to complete the qualification. Read the course information sheet here. Assessing Vocational Achievement City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate
This qualification forms part of the TAQA (Training, Assessment, Quality Assurance) suite of qualifications. It is suitable for people working in, or looking to enter roles in assessment and replaces the Assessor and Verifier (A&V) Units. The qualification provides people who carry out assessment in their organisation with the opportunity to develop and improve their practice as well as achieving a professional qualification for the role. They are available to anyone working in accredited learning or non accredited learning (where people may assess performance but do not assess for a qualification). Quality Assurance Qualifications (Level 4)
Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance Process and practices Level 4 Award
A knowledge-only Award for those who are starting their journey as an internal quality assurance practitioners or for those who need to know about internal quality assurance but who are not carrying out quality assurance themselves. This might be people such as experienced assessors or centre managers, HR or quality assurance personnel. Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice Level 4 Award
For practitioners who lead the internal quality assurance process within a centre/organisation and have a responsibility for managing the quality of the assessment process, practice and the performance of assessors. They may also develop systems and lead on visits from outside agencies such as awarding organisations.
